Back Pain Brace – Ikenna Iroha

I’ve been suffering from severe back pain for well over a year. I work a full time job and I am also a full time college student. That doesn’t leave me with a lot of free time to go to see my doctor.

I love the Therapeutic Kit, because I can strap it on and get almost instant back pain relief. I use the hot packs in the morning as I’m getting dressed, and at night while I’m winding down. The packs stay hot for hours.

The kit is very convenient. I love that there are no messy gels involved. I’ve tried many things for back pain relief, but this one has been the most convenient one for me. I use all parts of the kit, but I use the two shoulder straps the most.

Once the Velcro on the ends of the shoulder straps are connected and the heat packs are inserted into the pockets I do not detach it again. I call the configuration my heated back brace. After warming it up in the microwave in the morning I put it on for twenty minutes it feels so good. I do the same thing in the evening.

The WhatEver PocKits kit provides the temporary back pain relief I have been looking for. I also like the fact that the parts to the kit can be assembled together and look like a garment and can be worn under or over my clothing.

And last I do not have to be stationary while using the heated straps,  getting up out and about is a very important part of my busy life. Ikenna Iroha, Westland, MI

Thanks Ikenna for the testimonial. I think you will appreciated our instructional video on the different configuration that will provide back pain relief to the entire back.

Lupus and Joint Pain – Ammie White

I was diagnosed with lupus in 2013. Lupus affects my muscles and joints making it very hard to do the things I once enjoyed. The pain is especially bad in my wrist. Rather than take anti-inflammatory medication every day for the pain caused by lupus, I’ve chosen to apply ice to the muscles and joints that hurt the most.

I use the Therapeutic Kit on my joints once a day, usually in the morning. The ice pockets really help with temporarily reducing the pain and inflammation. I find that after the ice application in the morning I am pain free for the rest of the day.

The product is easy to use and convenient for me because I’m constantly on the go. I use the waist straps on my hands, wrist, elbow, knee and ankle. I use the shoulder straps mostly on my upper body i.e. neck, shoulder and armpits.

When I’m done, I can just unstrap the parts from my joints and toss the parts with the ice packs still in the pockets, back in the freezer, until I’m ready to use them again. My daughter has taken the chamber panel and uses it for her monthly cramps. Ammie A. White, Detroit, MI

Ammie thanks for the testimonial. If the lupus causes pain in the arm you can also configure the chamber panel as a armwrap.
  • In a sitting position place the chamber panel across your lap.
    • Put your arm on the panel up to the elbow. Connect the Velcro down to the finger tips.
    • Next take the un connected end of the panel bring it up and around the arm and connect Velcro edges together.
    • You may also look at our instructional video for more information on how to do this and other configurations.

Sore Muscles

I have been using The Whatever Pockits assemblage off and on since 2013,  I find the product to be very useful and convenient. When I have sore muscles from working out or playing tennis ect. I simply put on the Whatever Pockit assemblage and relax.

The ease of use is awesome, it can be manipilated very easily and quickly to fit all areas of the body. What I like most about the product is you don’t need to buy individual wraps to ice down or heat different areas of the body where I have pain from a sore muscles.

With the WhatEver Pockit assemblage I just detach it, and use the different parts on the area of my body where I need relief from sore muscles. As a tennis instructor my muscles are sore a lot and with this pocket assemblage I’m able to wear the it under my clothing for all day use, even on the court.

I also like the fact that the packs for heating and icing are small so they heat up and freeze very quickly. I really like the chamber panel because it is long and wide enough to throw over a chair and sit on it. After a hard workout it really feels good to ice down my sore muscles by sitting on the panel with ice in the pockets and watch TV. Lisa Geitz, St. Louis, MO

Lisa thanks for the testimonial.  As a tennis player I am sure you have sore muscles in your shoulder area. Here are the instructions on how to configure the Whatever Pockit assemblage for your shoulder as well your waist chest and stomach:
  • Take the chamber panel and place it over your shoulder.
    • Connect the Velcor underneath your armpit down to your waist.
    • Next connect the Velcro on the shoulder straps together and place on your stomach, take the straps around the waist and tie the elastic straps together in the front of your body.

Back Pain Relief

Hi Lillie, I just got home from a conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. I absolutely love the Whatever PocKits garment. I took it to the OI Conference, but most of the people with Osteogenesis imperfecta liked to use the smaller parts because of the weight. They did not like wearing the garment.

I am going to take it to the EDS support group next week and I am sure they will appreciate it as much as I do! People with EDS suffer from chronic pain of the joints and muscles. I cannot wait to see what they think of it!

I have been using mine with heat mostly, and it has been a wonderful aid in battling chronic pain from arthritis. My pain is wide spread from my neck and shoulders to the lower part of my back. I absolutely love that I can wear it. I can go about my daily routine and not worry about stopping to take a warm bath or sit with a heating pad to gat back pain relief.

I think this is the most brilliant invention ever! Janet Maistros, Cleveland, OH

Thanks Janet for the testimonial. If you need to detach the Whatever PocKit assemblage and use it again for back pain relief, here are the instruction to reassemble it for use on your entire back:
Assemblage for back pain relief:
  • Take the chamber panel and place it on a flat surface with the Velcro side face up, attach the Velcro on the shoulder straps to the top right and top left of the panel.
  • Next attach the Velcro on the waist straps to the right and the left mid point of the chamber panel. Now fold the chamber panel and attach the bottom of the chamber panel to the top.
You now have a fully assembled backpack for back pain relief.
To use the fully assembled pocket assemblage as a backpack:
  • First, the chamber panel is lifted over the head onto the back, leaving the shoulder straps hanging on the chest.
  • Second, the shoulder straps are crisscrossed on the chest, and the extension straps are taken around the body and tied in the back.
  • Third, the waist extension straps are tied together in front of the body.
  • If a snug fit is desired the shoulder straps can be taken under the armpits, crisscrossed in the back, and the extensions straps are brought to the front of the body and tied together.

Multiple Sclerosis

I have multiple sclerosis (MS ) and I want to say how thankful I am for the multi functional pocket assemblage helping me control my body temperature and comfort.

The multiple pockets for heat/cool inserts keep the entire core of my body warm or cool. What is amazing is the multiple ways you can take apart the whole assemblage and use the smaller pieces to concentrate heat/ice to individuals muscles.

When I have lower back ache or a twisted ankle, I just remove parts of the assemblage to make a warm or cold pack that still allows me mobility while allowing the muscle to relax.

With multiple sclerosis (MS) heat drains my energy and control of my muscles. This is a real problem in summer. I have not been able to participate in my favorite summer activities of a barbeque and working in my yard until I began using the Whatever PocKit Assemblage.

I can make the assemblage into so many different shapes to keep me fresh and cool while looking quite the fashion. The soft colorful fabric never becomes stiff and hard like other popular cooling scarves.

When I want to work outside for a long time, I wear the pocket assemblage as a vest with cool packs in all of the pockets to keep me cool for hours, even while in the sun. I use one strap with cool packs to make a bandana around my head or a cooling scarf.

My yard and flower garden looks beautiful this year because of the Whatever PocKit assemblage. Multiple sclerosis no longer has control over my life. D. Villacis, St. Louis, MO a forever user of the Whatever PocKit assemblage.

Thanks D. Villacis for this testimonial. Looks like you have mastered the use of the kit and taken control of your multiple sclerosis. If you are interested in more configurations, check out our Whatever PocKits instructional video.

Sore Hands and Gardening

After a day of gardening I had sore hands. How happy I was to have this assemblage!! A hot day in the garden pulling weeds, raking and planting flowers, caused my hands and cuticles to be swollen and paining. I went into the house and starting running cold water on my sore hands which felt good but I remembered that I had the assemblage apparatus and quickly put in cold packets in the straps and wrapped them around my sore hands and cuticles and what a relief!! This was a life saver! I’m happy to have such a versatile aid on hand. Mary Lott, St. Louis, MO

Mary, thanks for the testimonial. Glad to hear the kit provided comfort to your sore hands. Next time you go out in the hot sun to do gardening try using the WhatEver Pockit kit as a cooling device.
With temperatures hovering around 90 degrees and the humidity over 50% it can be tough to keep cool while working out in the garden. The danger of heat stroke under these conditions is possible.
Using the WhatEver PocKit kit as a cooling vest, or a head band can protect you from the dangers of the hot heat of summer. Heatstroke signs and symptoms include: Fever of 104 F (40 C) or greater.
Changes in mental status or behavior, such as confusion, agitation, slurred speech. Hot, dry skin or heavy sweating. Nausea and vomiting. Flushed skin. Rapid pulse. Rapid breathing. Headache. Fainting, which may be the first sign in older adults.
If you suspect you or someone else are having a heatstroke, call 911 or your local emergency number. Then immediately get out of the heat and cool the body by whatever means available, if possible you want to put ice on the following vital areas of the body: The neck, armpits and groin. The WhatEver PocKit kit can be configured to fit comfortably on all parts of the body including the neck, armpits, and groin area. Our instructional video will explain and demonstrate how to do these configurations.

Muscle Strain

Muscle strain and pain are not uncommon for a gym rat like myself. With the readjustable options I am able to target particular body areas where muscle strain has ocured and apply either cold or warm therapy. At age 58 it decreases my down time until I’m able to return to my routine. It allows me to be more regular with my work outs. Thanks for the opportunity to Beta test your invention. The reconfigurable therapeutic device. Wayne Ratliff, R.Ph. St. Louis, MO

Wayne, thanks for the testimonial. Have you considered using the WhatEver PocKits kit as a heated warmup garment prior to working out? The heated garment can be used before your workout to prevent soreness caused by muscle strain and to help increase mobility and prevent injury, especially if you like to workout in the early morning or right after work.
Heat also relaxes muscles and promotes blood flow, both of which help you get warmed up for your workout. The importance of loose muscles before and after a workout cannot be overstated, and heating and stretching your muscles before a workout is the best possible combination to prevent injury, soreness caused by muscle strain, and increase the results of your workout.
Heat therapy should never be used after a workout. If you have pain in muscles or joints, icing is a much better form of therapy to reduce inflammation and pain. The best results occur when heating is done before a workout and icing is done after.
Icing has long been an accepted form of recovery after hard workouts. Cooling sore muscles after a workout slows nerve impulses and constricts blood vessels, which helps to treat pain and any swelling.
Using ice baths or similar methods such as that provided by the WhatEver PocKits kit for the cooling strained or sore muscles also speed up heart rate, which helps to clear out waste products like lactic acid. Icing is especially useful for acute injuries and after intense workouts. It can help speed recovery and reduce pain post-workout.

Arthritis

I’m a female age 64 semi active-run small distance 5k, walk and gardening. My aliments consist of arthritis, spinal stenosis and old age. My doctor recommend both heat and cold treatments to help reduce inflammation and ease the pain and stiffness that comes with arthritis. He told me heat or cold therapy works by stimulating your body’s own healing force. Heat dilates the blood vessels, stimulates blood circulation, and reduces muscle spasms. He told me heat alters the sensation of pain, and cold packs reduces swelling by constructing blood vessels and cold packs can numb deep pain. My doctor told me I could use either dry heat or moist heat.

I wanted to find one product that would give me the option to use ice and heat for my arthritis. I wanted one product that would allow me to use dry or moist heat for my arthritis. And I wanted one product that could fit on all parts of my body. I could not find not one product on the market that could do what I wanted.

A friend told me about the WhatEver Pockit (an assemblage of pockets), by Kelley’s Therapeutic Garments she said it wasn’t on the market yet but maybe the inventor would let me try one of the proto types. At first I was overwhelmed because the pocket assemblage is so multipurpose. Once I tried the device I found it to be easy to assemble and easy to use. I have used it on many parts of my body for relief: arthritis, neck pain, lower back, headache, and sunburn. I even let my grand-daughter use it for menstrual cramps.

I would highly recommend the pocket assemblage to people of all ages, activity levels and walks of life. Everyone gets an ache or pain in their life. I would not live without this device! I also like the comfort and style of the assemblage. Kathie Kennealy, St. Louis MO.

Back Pain

Hi Lillie, Stephen had to have back surgery. I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to get this testimonial to you about your product. Stephen’s back has been our main priority. He is recovering nicely from his back surgery. Below you can see that we REALLY USED your product and can say how much we really love it. Will be calling you soon! Looking forward to seeing you! !

This product is phenomenal! My husband had major back pain, before deciding to do back surgery. His Dr. and Chiropractor both told him to use ice to help with the swelling. Any other ice pack would last 20 min and need to be replaced with another pack.

With Lillie’s product we could freeze and refreeze and the cool would last 2-3 hours before needing to be replaced. My husband also has issues with swelling in his feet. We tried to use other products but the cool wouldn’t last long and they would burst open with the inside leaking out.

With Lillie’s product we could take it apart and used the part we needed at the time we needed it, we could actually strap the product on to his feet and the coolness would last for up to 3 hours.

When my shoulder needed warmth I put the shoulder strap in the micro wave and strapped it across my shoulder and the warmth lasted 1 1/2 to 2 hours before needing to be reheated. I am so thrilled we had this product to help us.

Thanks Lillie! Marsha Henderson, St. Louis MO.

Post Surgery Healing

Post Surgery Healing: Using Ice

Two years ago at the age of 58 I had a heart attack. A cardiac catheterization medical procedure was used to diagnose my heart. A long, thin, flexible tube called a catheter was inserted into a blood vessel in my groin area. After the catheterization, the sheath was removed from my artery and pressure was applied for twenty to thirty minutes to stop the initial bleeding from the artery. An ice pack was placed in the area where the catheter was inserted to manage swelling pain and soreness. I was discharged from the hospital in three days, so most of the post surgery healing  took place at my home while using the Whatever Pockit therapeutic kit.

 Post Surgery Healing: Instructions

Before being released from the hospital I was told by the doctor for minor pain to put an ice pack or hot pack over the site for 20 minutes every 2 hours. He told me ice causes blood vessels to constrict (get small) which helps lessen inflammation (swelling, pain, and redness). And heat brings blood to the surgery area and helps it heal faster.

Post Surgery Healing: The WhatEver Pockit Chamber Panel

I had received the WhatEver PocKit therapeutic kit as a Christmas gift a year ago and I had only used the small waist straps for my stiff joints in my hands. And now a year later I have the opportunity to use the chamber panel which came with the kit as a 12 by 18 inch ice/heat pad for use on my thigh (groin area). Since I was instructed by the doctor to stay in bed for at least a week I used the pad while laying on my back with my leg straight.

Post Surgery Healing: Pain

I am so grateful for the uniqueness and flexibility of the therapeutic garment chamber panel which I placed on  the area where the catheter was inserted.  The WhatEver PocKit kit was  most helpful in managing my post surgery healing,  and was also a  great  help in dealing with the pain in my groin area.
